Meet Rev. Tom

Rev.I.Thomas Maher was born in March 25 1970 to parents of Late Pastor. S. Isaac and Samathanam in Melur, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the eldest son in his family. He has one younger sister Janet Mercy and youngest brother Ezekiel Besilient. His sister and his brother are married.

When Tom was a child he terribly affected by incurable sickness but by the faith and prayer of his father Isaac he was raised up from the death bed, while his parents dedicated unto the Lord His ministry. His father was well respected by the people of region and dedicated pioneer missionary in this area. Through his wonderful

 

ministry there are hundreds of people saved and 13 full time ministers have been raised up, all of them are doing successful ministries and some of them even have big churches attendance over 1200 people in single Sunday service.

Tom was saved in the age of 16 when he went to the Mission Conference which was organized by "Blessing Youth Mission" and where dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and full time Missionary work. In the year 1988 God has given him vision over the unreached community so he started the ministry named "Youth Gospel Outreach Team". That time he had been doing marvelous ministry among youths and children. Through the help of "Christian Salvage Mission" he received thousands of literatures and distributed them to many hundreds of ministries and people for free of cost.

During his wonderful ministry, he felt the strong leading of God to get the Missionary Training for the successful future ministry. While, Dr. Rev. Theodore Williams, [one of the reputed mission leaders in India and around the world] founder of Indian Evangelical Mission had helped him to join in YCLT, Seminary Campus, Yavatmal, which is well popular and strong Evangelical based seminary in India. He studied Bachelor of Missiology during the year 1990 - 1994 and graduated in the year 1994.

In the year 1994, Tom felt it was necessary to change the name of ministry since the ministry blessing to regardless of age groups so the "Youth Gospel Outreach Team" became changed into the name of "The Indian Council of Missions".

He married Silambuchelvi in October 20 1998, who was the missionary for five years. God has blessed them with the beautiful female child name Faithlin who is born on October 6 1999. Tom and Selvi are the very good singers and composed several songs and published two albums. He is well demanded preacher and singer who have great passion for souls and reaching unreached community of India with gospel of Jesus Christ.
