About Child Care Project:
 

We, at The Indian Council of Missions, bring greetings to you and your family in Jesus name! It is the plan of God that came in the mind Rev. I.Thomas Maher in the year 2005 when he was praying for the ministers and their family in India. God has directed him to concern over the families of Indian missionaries. During the much prayer God has shown the felt need of every missionary family is - the need of their children. There are hundreds of missionaries have been longing for the aid for their basic needs of children.

It is possible through only providing financial monthly support for the deserving missionaries' children, through that we would like to feed, cloth and educate the children and change the lives of poor condition of children in India.

The situation of Ministers' Children:

You might be known that there are hundreds of Indian missionaries have been undergoing sever financial crisis because of insufficient monthly support. There are very few missionary organizations only provide the some allowance for the children but most of missionary organizations never help anything for the children. You know in India 60 % of missionaries is independent missionaries.

Most of missionaries, because of insufficient support, can't feed, cloth, educate their children properly. I have read the article from one of the "Mission News Letter", asking a question from missionary children, what is your ambition? You know, what is the from 99% children is - they want to be a Doctors, Engineers and other professions but except one child NO ONE is willing to go as missionaries. The next question was, why you do not want to be missionary like your parents? The answer was, we do not want suffer like our parents with out food, cloths, medication and education. My heart was broken.

The numbers of children are waiting for the support:

There are 147 Missionary families, had been applied for the monthly support for their children. We have now 364 children from these 147 missionaries' family who have been waiting for the support. These missionary families are so poor. All the applications are investigated and proved by our District Leaders and Taluk Coordinators.


The monthly support for one child for a month:

We have sincerely estimated the support for a child for one month about US$25. The 98% of money directly goes to the beneficial of each child. The remaining 2% of money goes to the administration of this Child Care Project - India.

I have heard saying some one from western country that $25 will not be enough to feed a child in western countries. And also, it may NOT be sufficient even to buy the bread of bet dogs. I do believe it may be true. To the western people it may not be big amount but we want to tell you your free will contribution of $25 will certainly make great impact in the lives of a child.

You can send the support on the monthly basis or even yearly basis.


By sponsoring child what you would receive from ICM office.

The ICM office will mail you the picture and the history of a child along with Missionary family picture and their brief information of their mission field. You would hear from the child once in six month. The quarterly report will be sent you via e-mail/mail.

		We do not ask money for our excisting project of Orphanage. God has been so faithful to take care of our children needs every month. We will NOT utilize this support for the orphans. Thanks for understanding!!
